Built for every driver

Accessibility Statement.

Rideshare Cooperative is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including drivers who rely on assistive technology. Accessibility is a build requirement here, not an afterthought.

Conformance target: WCAG 2.2 Level AALast reviewed: July 9, 2026Scope: Phase 1 driver waitlist site

Our commitment

We build and test this website against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA - the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by courts interpreting it. We fix accessibility issues in our source code rather than layering on an overlay widget, because overlays do not make a site genuinely usable.

What we've done

  • Every page has a "Skip to main content" link, a single main heading, a logical heading order, and proper landmark regions (header, navigation, main, footer).
  • All functionality - navigation, the menu, the FAQ accordion, and every form field - works with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
  • Text meets a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, and interface borders and focus indicators meet at least 3:1.
  • Every image has appropriate alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Every form field has a programmatically associated label, and status messages are announced through live regions.
  • The layout reflows to a single column on small screens and remains usable at 200% and 400% zoom.
  • We respect the "reduce motion" setting and never autoplay audio.

Known limitations

We are honest about what is still in progress:

  • Waitlist forms. The email sign-up forms are built into this site and submit to our own API. We test them for keyboard and screen-reader access and continue to improve them as the product evolves.
  • External services. Our social media links open third-party platforms (Threads, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) whose accessibility we do not control. Links that open a new tab are announced as such.
  • Web fonts. Fonts load from Google Fonts. If they fail to load, the site falls back to your system fonts with no loss of content.

Tell us about a barrier

If you encounter anything on this site that is difficult or impossible to use, we want to hear about it - and we will work with you to get you the information or service you need. Please email privacy@ridesharecooperative.com and describe the problem, the page, and the assistive technology you were using if you can. We aim to respond within five business days.

Assessment approach

This site is evaluated using a combination of automated testing (axe-core, against the wcag2a, wcag2aa, wcag21a, wcag21aa, and wcag22aa rule sets), manual keyboard testing, and screen-reader testing. Automated tools alone catch only a portion of accessibility issues, so manual review is part of every release.
